Thirteen cars turned up at the Keelham Farm Shop at Skipton for the start of John and Rose Marie’s Sunday run. After our customary coffee and natter, we set off just after 11.00am, the sun shining and rag top down. Within a very short time we had turned off the busy A59 and were enjoying the country roads heading for Gargrave. Carrying on through more pretty little hamlets, through Otterburn and Airton, we pressed on towards Malham, passing Malham National Park Centre and shortly after leaving Malham we were treated to a magnificent view of Malham Cove. Going over Malham Moor we arrived at Arncliffe. As we proceeded along the Pennine Way between Halton Gill and Stainforth there was a lovely view of Pen-y-gent. After a comfort stop at Stainforth we carried on through Ribblesdale to Settle. Leaving Settle we crossed over the A65 and headed towards Wigglesworth. At Wigglesworth we turned left onto the B6178. Crossing the stone bridge over the River Ribble and turning right made our way via the A56 and turned into the Tempest Arms to meet up with everyone to enjoy a lovely roast Sunday lunch.
Thank you John and Rose Marie for a fabulous run through countryside and along roads that were new to us. A truly wonderful day.
