Yet another busy month for the club. With a club night with a French twist at The Buffers which was well attended to our own National Run, “The Yorkshire Pudding Run” which appeared, if comments received are correct, to be another roaring success. 160 cars gathered at The Craiglands Hotel in Ilkley before departing on a run of approx 100 miles in the Yorkshire Dales. The day continued after the meal in the evening with Robin Colvill of The Grumbleweeds providing the entertainment and also helping to draw the raffle and the auction. It looks provisionally that we have topped the £2000 + Gift Aid where possible (this will be confirmed when all the monies are collected in) which is a great effort by everyone so thank you all.
Although the report and some pictures will be in next month’s newsletter I would like to express my gratitude to all the people from the club who help on the day, things like booking everyone in at registration, selling raffle tickets, folding raffle tickets, sorting out gifts, car parking, erecting and taking down gazebos banners etc., twisting arms to sell guesses on the tea pot and to the members who support the run by attending, taking photographs, writing reports and generally helping to make the day the huge success that it is. Without you all it would not happen so please do not feel that your input is not appreciated, it most certainly is.
Although it may seem some time away our Club Night on the 12th October sees the club’s AGM. Once again we are looking for those of you who are maybe interested in joining the present committee (should they all wish to stand for re-election) and help us to continue to promote what I feel is a great club. There will be a free buffet provided on that evening for members, but please remember that we can only get 100 people into the room.
Please keep an eye on the club’s website www.leedsmgccc.co.uk and the events page in this Newsletter for all future events and contact details.
The club welcomes these new members, and we hope to see you all at club nights, events and runs throughout the year.
